At A.R. Mazzotta Employment Specialists, our commitment to the community goes far beyond staffing. Each year, we take part in our Annual Employee Non-Profit Donation Program, where every team member selects a local nonprofit that is meaningful to them—and we make a donation in their name. This program is a reflection of our values and our deep connection to the communities we serve.
Heather – Cat Tales, Inc.
Heather chose to support Cat Tales, Inc., a non-profit organization based in Middletown, CT, that works tirelessly to protect the lives of abused, neglected, and abandoned cats and kittens. Heather adopted her beloved cat, Zoey, from Cat Tales two years ago and has seen firsthand the care and compassion the organization provides. Through her donation, Heather is proud to give back to the organization that gave her Zoey and continues to provide shelter and foster care to animals in need.
Robin – Down Syndrome Association of CT – Advocacy Avengers
Robin supports the Down Syndrome Association of CT’s Advocacy Avengers, a vibrant group that champions inclusion, advocacy, and empowerment for individuals with Down syndrome. The organization has had a direct impact on Robin’s family, and she describes being part of the Advocacy Avengers as “a blast.” Her donation honors the incredible work this group does and helps them continue to build a more inclusive and supportive community.
Alexus – YoungLives
Alexus selected YoungLives, an organization she has volunteered with for more than a decade. As a mentor, she’s seen the life-changing impact the program has on teen mothers—meeting them where they are and guiding them with love, compassion, and support. She’s especially excited about the recent expansion into the Waterbury area, where even more young women will be empowered to grow, set goals, and thrive with the help of programs like YoungLives.
Michael – Middlesex United Way / VITA
Michael chose Middlesex United Way’s VITA program, which offers free tax preparation services to those who qualify. Having used the program personally, Michael appreciates how accessible and supportive the volunteer-run initiative is—especially during tax season. His donation helps ensure more Connecticut residents can access the financial support and education they need.
Teresa – Meriden-Wallingford Chrysalis
Teresa supports Meriden-Wallingford Chrysalis, a safe haven for individuals impacted by domestic violence. She deeply values the organization’s mission to restore hope and self-worth to survivors by offering safety, support, and resources. Her donation shines a light on the importance of knowing you are not alone—and that healing and strength are possible with the right support.
Jessica – Homeward Bound CT
Jessica made her donation to Homeward Bound CT, an organization dedicated to dog adoptions. Jessica’s family found their dog Mikey through this organization, and she was impressed by the thoughtful and thorough adoption process—including meeting space to ensure compatibility with their existing dog, Tucker. Her experience inspired her to give back to an organization that truly cares about the future of the animals they rescue.
Deborah – Human Resources Agency of New Britain
Deborah selected the Human Resources Agency (HRA) of New Britain for her donation. HRA improves quality of life by helping people reach their economic and social potential, addressing the root causes of poverty, and building stronger communities. Deborah believes in their mission and is proud to support an organization making real change across Connecticut.
Broadening Our Impact Year-Round
Beyond our employee-driven giving, we remain active in initiatives that benefit the greater Connecticut community. One example is our Annual Matching Campaign with Middlesex United Way, held each November. Every dollar pledged by an employee is matched by the company, doubling the impact for organizations that support education, income, health, and housing across the region.
In addition to our annual programs, we are proud to support organizations like:
- MARC Community Services
- Middlesex Community College
- The Rockfall Foundation
- Middlesex Health Women’s Wellness
- Sarah Foundation
- Oddfellows Playhouse
- Community Renewal Team
