Meet The Team
The A.R. Mazzotta team is respected for their dedication, integrity, and deep knowledge of the staffing industry. Many of our specialists have over 20 years of experience and have been with our team for well over a decade.
We believe in giving personal attention to every employer and job seeker we work with – so let’s give some of that same personal treatment to the amazing people who are A.R. Mazzotta. Get to know them a little better.
Zubia Ahmad
Talent Services Coordinator
While completing her bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders, Zubia found a job as a Sourcing Specialist for a recruiting company. She found the work to be very interesting and chose to pursue a career in staffing after graduation.
Zubia joined the A.R. Mazzotta Talent Services Department in January 2022 as a Talent Services Coordinator. As the first point of contact for talent, Zubia assists our recruiting team by screening resumes and scheduling appropriate interviews.
Zubia enjoys traveling and shopping and is always up for a new experience!
Alexus Curtin
Recruiting Specialist
Alexus began her career in the staffing world in 2018 and knew the human resource industry was for her. She enjoys sourcing for candidates, hoping to find the perfect fit for both the client and the candidate. She previously staffed for financing and accounting roles and is now a part of our office professional’s recruiting team.
She enjoys speaking with candidates and discovering what type of work truly excites them and will aid them on their journey to reach their career goals. She truly loves the atmosphere at A.R. Mazzotta because she can take her time with each candidate and connect on a level that is not usually possible with other agencies. Because at A.R Mazzotta we are people focused!
She volunteers at Younglives, a nonprofit organization that helps to guide teenage mothers through their situation and empower them to make positive choices and set goals to better their lives and the lives of their children. It is a mission that is extremely close to her heart.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, and finding the beauty and creativity in all things around her!
Jessica Duval, CSP
Recruiting Supervisor
Jessica is the Recruiting Supervisor for our Office & Professional Placement division. She has experience in both office and manufacturing recruiting and placement, and she finds each challenging and exciting in their own way. She has been with the A.R. Mazzotta team since 2017 and has earned her certification as a Certified Staffing Professional (CSP).
She is responsible for building relationships with clients and candidates to make the best match. This requires rigorous searching and screening in order to not only line up the candidate’s skills and career goals but to make a good culture match as well.
Jessica’s professional background includes recruiting, customer services and sales. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Central Connecticut State University. While working in human resources during a summer internship, she developed a passion for recruiting and never looked back.
During her free time, Jessica enjoys spending time with her husband, family, friends, and her dogs Tucker and Mikey!
Heather Reney
Senior Accountant
Heather joined the A.R. Mazzotta team in 2014, and we’re very happy to have her. In her role as Senior Accountant she keeps busy managing payroll and coordinating benefits for our temporary/contract employees. And let’s not forget about her other number-crunching responsibilities, like overseeing accounts receivable, accounts payable and other general accounting duties.
A graduate of Central Connecticut University, Heather has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and has been in the accounting field for over 13 years. She has developed a love for the recruiting industry and A.R. Mazzotta. She appreciates having a work-life balance that the company offers as well as having great coworkers that make each day a little better! She enjoys helping people, and finds it is important to be understanding/compassionate of employees’ circumstances and creating a positive experience for all.
Outside of work, Heather is busy with her 4-year-old daughter, who she loves experiencing new adventures with and watching her grow up to be a sweet loving little girl. She finds enjoyment in the little things in life – a good show, good friends & family, and good food!
Michael Muscatello
Recruiting Specialist
As Recruiting Specialist, Mike sources and interviews candidates with the goal of finding the right person for the right job. Providing quality service and excellent customer service are important to him.
With his professional background in customer service, sales, payroll and construction, Mike brings many talents to his role. He thoroughly enjoys the process of recruiting and talking with people to get ideal matches for our manufacturing, warehouse and high-tech openings.
Mike has a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology from Central Connecticut State University.
Teresa Pagán, CSP
Managing Director, Recruiting
Teresa is a Certified Staffing Professional (CSP) with over 24 years of wide-ranging industry experience. In addition, she earned her OSHA 10-Hour General General Safety and Health Certification.
In 1998, Teresa began her career in the staffing industry. She started out as a receptionist, where she learned the basics of recruiting and later became a recruiter. Shortly thereafter, Teresa went into management in the execution of high-volume placements on and off-company sites. A true team player, she is passionate about giving job candidates a fresh new career start while finding her clients that perfect needle in the haystack!
As Managing Director, Recruiting, Teresa provides leadership for our company’s daily operations – directing and coordinating staff activities, securing and cultivating client relationships, and promoting a positive work environment that ensures a high degree of client service and company success.
Working for a CT-based staffing company that is passionate about keeping jobs in our state is just one of the many things Teresa loves about working at A.R. Mazzotta. She appreciates the family-like atmosphere, fun and personable staff, generous employee benefits, and the work-life balance the organization offers.
During her spare time, Teresa enjoys spending time with Penny, her Cavalier King Charles, and biking through the trails.
Laura Dale Pedersen, CSP, CPC
CEO/President
To say that Laura loves the staffing world is an understatement! She finds it as exciting and interesting today as she did when she began her career in 1983. And it continues to energize her each and every day.
Before becoming President/CEO, Laura held many positions within the company including accountant, staffing professional, branch manager, operations manager and vice president. Today, she oversees all aspects of A.R. Mazzotta and its operations. She is diligent about maintaining the strong ethics and integrity for which the company is known and respected, while fostering positive growth for the company.
Laura holds two certifications: CSP, Certified Staffing Professional, American Staffing Association and CPC, Certified Personnel Consultant.
A dedicated community leader, Laura spearheads A.R. Mazzotta’s Middlesex United Way Matching Campaign and supports various community based programs. She is a Corporator of Middlesex Hospital and Middlesex Community College.
You’ll find Laura at the office more often than not, but in her free time she enjoys being in the woods or at the ocean, and tending to gardening chores with her husband and the best dog ever, Clancy (aka Junior).
Robin Soucy, CSP
Operations Manager
Robin joined A.R. Mazzotta in 2002 as an Administrative Assistant. She quickly got up to speed on office, professional and manufacturing recruiting enabling her to assist during busy periods and vacations.
Today Robin serves as A.R. Mazzotta’s Operations Manager. In this role, she is a member of the leadership team. She is responsible for ensuring that the overall operations of the company are covered on a daily basis in order to provide the excellent service for which the company is known, along with managing the Talent Services Department (TSD) which is the foundation of the company’s processes. She continues to use her manufacturing recruiting skills to place Talent in career opportunities.
Robin earned her Certified Staffing Professional designation and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, with a Concentration in Human Resource Management from Albertus Magnus College in New Haven.
Close to her heart, Robin previously served on the Board of Directors of PATH, a non-profit organization offering parent-to-parent support to families with special needs children and continues to serve as a consultant. During her free time, she loves to work out at the gym, hike, and take long walks. Robin also enjoys strength training.
