September 30th: Tip a Firefighter
The 15th Annual Tip a Firefighter event will be held on September 30, 2016, at Tuscany Grill, 120 College St., Middletown, CT. Tip a Firefighter is a benefit for MARC Community Resources, a non-profit agency that empowers people with intellectual and developmental disabilities to realize their dreams. Middletown Firefighters Local 1073 help servers bring you an amazing lunch or dinner dining experience. Join Gina J and 96.5TIC from 5-7pm! After you’ve tipped your firefighter and server help MARC launch their Over the Edge Rappelling quest and register to rappel down Hartford State House Square!
October 6th: Abby Carter / Crossing the Street
St. Vincent de Paul Middletown in conjunction with the MAC650 gallery (Middletown Art Collective), the North End Action Team (NEAT) and Middletown NorthEnd Gallery Walk invite the public to the opening of artist/illustrator Abby Carter’s Crossing the Street show on Thursday, October 6th, from 5-7 p.m. Both Carter’s expressive pencil portraits and her larger oil interpretations of Soup Kitchen guest “regulars” can be viewed at two spaces that night, simply by “Crossing the Street” from 617 Main St. to 650 Main Street.
Admission is free, but donations to SVDM would be welcome.
November 13th: Quizine for a Cause
Gilead Community Services presents Quizine for a Cause. This exciting event raises critical funds for client services supporting individuals on the road to recovery throughout Middlesex County. Guests begin the evening with dinner at a local home or restaurant and then gather together at Wesleyan University for client stories, homemade desserts, wine and beer tasting, tea cup raffle, live auction, and trivia quizzes.
