To stay on top of your professional game, it’s always a smart move to be active in the trade associations and professional organizations within your industry. For those of you that are part of the HR scene in Connecticut, there are several groups worth checking out.
So why take the time to get involved? Here are 3 good reasons:
- You can grow your professional network. This is especially helpful if you ever decide to switch jobs.
- You can expand your knowledge base. Professional organizations provide a great forum for exchanging ideas and industry information with other experts in your field.
- You can strengthen your community involvement. Getting involved with local organizations that are particularly close to home can deepen your community ties, and even open up opportunities for helping your neighbors (which A.R. Mazzotta loves to do!)
If you’re not familiar with all of the professional HR organizations in CT, here’s a list to get you started:
Human Resource Association of Central Connecticut (HRACC)
Connecticut Society for Human Resource Management (CTSHRM)
Human Resource Leadership Association of Eastern Connecticut (HRLA)
Northwest CT Human Resource Association (NWCTHRA)
Some additional groups worth checking out include:
American Staffing Association (ASA)
Affiliated Staffing Group (ASGroup)
Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA)
